Passionnément’vin: A Private & Independent Sommelier
Still relatively uncommon in Switzerland but very popular in the United States, the idea of an independent, private sommelier is the French adaptation of an Anglo-Saxon concept: the Private Sommelier.
Their knowledge and expertise as a professional sommelier are applied in the private sphere, as well as through a variety of services adopted by companies for events and activities centred around wine.

Often confused with the oenologist, the sommelier can be involved in different stages after the wine has been bottled, whereas the oenologist (to put it simply, the “doctor” of wine!) works on all the stages before bottling.
